We follow trends and use the latest protocols to protect your traffic! The latest version of DotVPN utilizes Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2) with AES-128 encryption. We selected to use AES-128 and AES-256 by two reasons: First, we decided that due to the larger size of the key the performance declines unreasonably; second, AES-256 has some known vulnerabilities. A vulnerability that could disrupt the AES-128 has not yet been found.
